Robin has been the Director of Hockey at Durbanville High School since 2012, and has 24 years of experience in the hockey industry. He is an experienced player, goalkeeper and coach.

“Hockey is my life. It has been since I first picked up a hockey stick at the age of 13, and I have dedicated my life to the sport. I want to share the passion and love I have for the game with my players, hoping it will bring them the same joy it has brought me over the years.”

Hans Smuts

Hans joined Durbanville Hockey Club in 2020. He is currently sharing his hockey expertise with Gene Louw Primary School, serving as head of hockey: girls. Hans is also coaching the u/16A boys at Durbanville High School.

Hans is married to our very own Jean-Mari. When asked how he spends his free time when he is not playing, coaching or umpiring, he simply answered, “just spending time with my wife.”

I am a sports management student with a passion for fitness and a love for hockey . My goal is to help people become the best versions of themselves and grow through sports. I’m glad that hockey is the sport that found me, and I hope to continue to contribute towards growing the sport.

Rees Snyman

Rees has been playing hockey since he was 6 years old, and has never been more passionate about anything else in his life. He played for the first teams at Curro Durbanville and Stellenberg High School, and received WP Colours in 2018.

Reese currently plays for Durbanville Hockey Club Men’s first side and coaches hockey full time.

I’m Julian Oraine – I consider myself as a hockey fanatic that’s always keen to learn more about the game.
I do sports (hockey and soccer) coaching for a living.

More background as a Coach: I’ve been Coaching at Welgemoed Primary for the last 6 years, and took on the U13A girls in 2023.

I also coached the U12 boys at El Shaddai Christian school in 2022.

As a Coach I believe in creating a fun and fostering environment where my players can always strive to better themselves without fear of judgment.

I obtained my FIH Level 1 Coaching badge, CAF D Lisence in soccer and Diploma in Sports Management.

I believe that through hard work and innovative coaching our Club’s junior structure can grow and become a strong foundation for our senior set-up.

Brendon Kieswetter

Brendon has been coaching for 19 years. In those 19 years he has coached 5 SA u18 players and 40+ WP players. He played for DHC men’s 1 st side up and till last year when he took over the coaching roll. Brendon has been coaching at Curro Durbanville High School for the last 4 years, where he helped the 1 st team boys get promoted to Premier League and they have stayed in Premier League for  the last 2 years.

Jadee Hendricks

My name is Jadee Hendricks. I am someone who is very passionate about sport; hockey in particular. I first picked up a hockey stick at the age of 10 and since then it’s a miracle if you do not to find me on the hockey field. I love developing players and sharing my love for hockey. I am no stranger to Durbanville Hockey Club, having been part of the 2021 and 2022 coaching squads. Its great to see how strong the passion is throughout the club – it’s an easy decision to come back to the club knowing that there is a shared passion for one sport. I am really excited for what lies ahead.

Jason Wright

We are excited to welcome Jason back to Durbanville Hockey Club this year, having played a season for the club a few years back. Jason spent some time coaching at Eversdal Primary School in 2023, and coached U8, U10 and U13 Boys teams. Jason is also an experienced umpire.

“I love hockey. I have been playing hockey since I was 8 years old.  I also love playing indoor hockey, and had the privilege to go to nationals twice. My passion is coaching children and young people, and I am looking forward to working with the boys at DHC.
